ILITE robotics is committed to spreading the FIRST message outside of our direct community. As such when we heard that a teammates family member wanted to participate but lived in an area where no teams where developed we graciously donated our time, guidance, and support to help not one but two FLL teams in West Virginia. The interest in these teams was so great that we have continued to help these kids and mentors understand what they need to do to run a successful program that inspires advancements in engineering and technology. We often go to West Virginia to attend their meetings to help directly. We provided the assistance to allow them to research and present, build, as well as program in NXT-G. This foundation will allow them to flourish during the season and is just the start of part of our campaign to further the FIRST message.
FIRST Campaign
ILITE has also incorporated a FIRST Campaign to further the message of FIRST in the community where teams exist by talking to local businesses and students to spread the message of furthering inspiration and importance in the field of technology and engineering. This has provided to be a successful venture by allowing us to reach over 3,000 students at local high schools. As well as gaining support from the following businesses who placed posters showing support for FIRST and ILITE in their shop windows to increase awareness and provide a way to access information as a way to spread the message.
