Weekly Updates
Week of February 12th
This was a crucial week for the entire robotics team. The business team worked hard towards finishing up the website. The build team worked towards putting together the robot. The programming team made sure that everything is implemented and working well. Being one of the closing weeks, all of the members worked towards being as responsible as possible to finish on time.
Week of February 5th
The business team this week focused on getting everything together from the people it was assigned to. Another main focus was to get the chairman’s papers fully edited. The build team painted the robot purple this week. They continued working on the manipulator as well as the drive train in an effort to finish in time. The programmers worked on improving their code and making sure that it was executed the way they expected it to do.
Week of January 29th
The build team was able to finish 90% of the drive train. They implemented a spring tensioned roller onto the Drive Train. They also mounted the wheels to the frame. Some students on the business team, Kelsy Shiner, Roya Rezadoost, Audrey Choi, and Mariah Arndorfer, went to West Virginia to mentor two new FLL teams. The Business team also continued to work on the FIRST Campaign and gave some teachers "I suppport ILITE" cards for students to sign.
Week of January 22nd
The business team focused on Chairmans requirement this week. Throughout the week they diverted their attention towards the content, media, and FIRST Campaign. The programming team worked on sensors, camera, line followers, encoders, accelerometers, and gyros. The drive train worked on tough box gearbox prototype. The supershifter gearbox production was another thing they worked towards. The build team was able to thread the rod to the middle stage to string the lifts.
Week of January 15th
The business team started its first steps towards the FIRST campaign. They started moving towards editing the content of the website. The programming team starting imaging the cRIO and class mate. They worked hard towards the primary code integration and worked on the expert system and camera development. The build team worked on the prototype and the basic structure of the robot. They placed wheels with axels and tried to finish the drive train frame. They also worked on the elevator for the manipulator and sliders for the mini-bot.
Week of January 8th
The first week of FRC, the team members were split into the areas of their interest. Specific roles were assigned to each member and that person was held responsible for their job. The business team focused on getting their goals together and listing out what they would focus on in the coming weeks. The programmers didn’t have much to plan, so they went ahead towards programming their assigned part. The first few days of this first week were spent planning, while the last few day where devoted towards implementing the plan.
